Will Greg Olsen be able to follow-up on his breakout performance? How good as Vernon Davis become? Who is this week’s sleeper option?

Let’s look at all the questions surrounding the Tight End position as we head into Week 10:

1. Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts—vs. New England

2. Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons—at Carolina

3. Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers—vs. Philadelphia

4. Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers—vs. Chicago

5. Visanthe Shiancoe, Minnesota Vikings—vs. Detroit

6. Jeremy Shockey, New Orleans Saints—at St. Louis

7. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys—at Green Bay

8. John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks—at Arizona

9. Greg Olsen, Chicago Bears—at San Francisco

10. Brent Celek, Philadelphia Eagles—at San Diego

11. Todd Heap, Baltimore Ravens—at Cleveland

12. Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers—vs. Cincinnati

13. Zack Miller, Oakland Raiders—vs. Kansas City

14. Kellen Winslow, Tampa Bay Buccaneers—at Miami

15. Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit Lions—at Minnesota

Thoughts:

Dallas Clark leads all tight ends in yards, and its not even close.  At 703 yards for the season, second place is Antonio Gates at 590. There’s just no way not to rank him in the top spot, especially since the Patriots-Colts game could easily develop into a shootout.

While he didn’t find the end zone, Vernon Davis still managed 10 catches for 102 yards.  He clearly has a great rapport with Alex Smith and should continue to shine.

Sooner or later Jason Witten has to explode for a big game, doesn’t he?

He’s getting the catches, but he hasn’t had more than 53 yards since Week Three and hasn’t scored since Week Two. Against the Packers, who have given up 16 TDs through the air, this could be the week.

You obviously can’t expect three TDs every week, now can you?  Greg Olsen certainly enjoyed a breakout performance in Week Nine, so, hopefully, he can follow up on it with a strong performance in Week 10.

What are your thoughts? Who was left off the list? Who should be higher? Who should be lower?

Other Week 10 Rankings:

Quarterbacks

Running Backs

Wide Receivers.
