Are Arsene Wenger and His Supporters Getting a Little Too Over-Excited?

After two consecutive losses early in the season, the Arsenal trophy campaign seemed destined to be the same way it has been the last four seasons, trophyless. However, Arsenal up their game and suddenly a loss has not been conceded since the 4-2 defeat to Manchester City in September.

Arsenal are currently on a seven game Premier League unbeaten run and after a highly impressive 4-1 win over a doughty Wolves side, Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal can post a serious title challenge and that he has a side as good if not better than the famous "Invicibles."

Others believe Arsenal can become the first team to score a massive 100 goals in a Premier League season because of their impressive, easy on the eye, three goal average a game.

But is every one getting a little to over-excited?

We have witnessed Arsenal start season's strongly but falter when it came to the last half of the season. During 2007/2008 Arsenal lead the table but a series of serious injuries and the inability to put away games saw them drop to third by the end of the campaign.

Injuries always seem to hit Arsenal harder than most clubs. Just when they in the zone a series of injuries hits them and they end up struggling to find points.

I take nothing away from the stunning Arsenal performances this season. Arsenal are a completely different side to the one that took to the field last season. New formation, better attitudes, player growth. Arsenal boast a  sensational, young attacking team and are certainly capable of producing the results to win trophies.

But it does seem as if everyone is getting a little to excited. The Premier League can change just like that and before you know it a series of injuries and lackluster performances could see Arsenal playing catch up once more.
