Creature vs. Creature Writers Pool: Results After The Dickies 500

Texas Motor Speedway became the Busch brothers' playground this weekend.

Kyle Busch dominated and won both the Truck and Nationwide Series races on Friday and Saturday, but older brother Kurt stole the Sprint Cup win.

They were both overshadowed by the coverage of Jimmie Johnson, who lost most of his points lead after crashing on lap four. He would finish 38th and head to Texas with a 73-point lead over Mark Martin.

Most of our Creatures had days just like Johnson's; none of them picked up the win, but it wasn't without a lack of trying, as pick Kyle Busch looked to be headed to victory lane before running out of fuel.

Fuel mileage and mechanical issues shook up our Creatures standings for the second straight week. The top five has a different look with two races remaining in the season as we head for Phoenix.

Ben Bomberger (6,231) Kyle Busch finished 11th (4)

Mary Jo Buchanan (-52) Kasey Kahne finished 33rd (2)

Kelly Crandall (-64) Kevin Harvick finished fifth (2)

Jen Preston (-104) Kevin Harvick finished fifth (2)

Kara Martin (-131) Juan Pablo Montoya finished 37th (4)

Rob Tiongson (-149) Joey Logano finished 19th (2

James Broomhead (-347) Juan Pablo Montoya finished 37th (3)

SM Napier (-421) Juan Pablo Montoya finished 37th (3)

Mason Dunn (-461) NO PICK SENT (0)

Danielle Henderson (-635) NO PICK SENT (2)

David Phillips (-676) NO PICK SENT (2)

Adam Heasley (-1,201) NO PICK SENT (3)

Next up comes the one-mile Phoenix International Raceway, where Mark Martin won earlier this year. He'll be looking for a sweep to apply pressure to Jimmie Johnson's point lead.

Creatures, please remember to have your picks in as soon as possible. If you're going to risk it by sending it in on Friday, you have until 8:15 am ET, no exceptions.
