Brett the "Grim" Rogers now with a record of 11(9)-1 had his moments in the fight. Rogers landed a jab right at the beginning of the fight that instantly cut Fedor's nose causing him to bleed profusely down. There was also a moment in the first round where Rogers ended up on top of Fedor on the ground and started to pound away at his face.
Although Fedor was bested by these brief exchanges he utilized his far superior ring generalship and ground game to dominate any strengths that Rogers displayed.
In the post-fight interview Fedor said he would be open to a rematch if Rogers would like one and dedicated his victory to all of his Russian people and fans. Rogers still very upset and shocked over the sudden tko loss and only loss expressed his strong interest in a rematch as well.
Personally I found this fight to be great and exciting. We saw Fedor the so called greatest MMA fighter of all time struggle at times against a hungry undefeated powerhouse from the hardest neighborhood in the world, but he showed how much of a master he was by being the superior fighter on so many different levels and ultimately ending it all with the almighty TKO stoppage.
I felt this was an actual KO for Rogers fell so hard the referee could have just waived it off before Fedor jumped on him and opened up to make it official.
Fedor like many other great fighters has many haters out there but I think even the haters were impressed tonight. Congrats to CBS for broadcasting this fight card which did not have the biggest names but it was still a great card for all the true MMA fans out there.
