College FB: The Week Eight Rundown

Icon Sports MediaWhen the DVD copy of the LSU-Kentucky game is out, let me know as I'll be the first in line to purchase it...

I told you Nebraska was in trouble against Oklahoma State, but I did not see that 45-14 steamrolling in the cards...

USC could very well lose at Notre Dame, the craziness of it all...

Has anybody thought that, with the way this season is going, we could end up with another split title situation similar to 2003?

As a fan of the BCS system, this absolute anarchy does NOT sit well...

My list of notes for the Florida @ Kentucky game: Beer. Wings. TiVo. 52" flat screen. Phones off. PC off. TV on. Chair. Eyes. Watch. Cheer vehemently.

South Florida's road to the national title game begins in New Jersey...

Miami / Florida State - 1999. 2000. 2001... = National Title Implications!!!

Miami / Florida State - 2005. 2006. 2007... = Yawn, is American Idol on?

Tennessee @ Alabama... put that "$4,000,000 magic" to work Saban...

Michigan @ Illinois... Here's to hoping "The Zook Syndrome" was only a week long episode while the Illini where at Iowa...

Auburn @ LSU... if anybody needed their own network, it's the SEC for sure...

Houston Nutt... I know a few really good resume writers you should contact...

And to think Nebraska used to be a football "powerhouse"...

So they call themselves "The U", as in, Miami Hurricanes. Now, all they do is l"U"se...

Texas A&M vs. Nebraska. "Battle of the Imploding Programs"

Denny Fran vs. Billy Cal. "Battle of the Beleaguered Coaches"

Cal @ UCLA... the southside of California could get interesting, ladies and gents.

Now, we'll see if this Mizzou teams is for real this year when they host Texas Tech.

I'm not counting on it, thus begins the 2007 edition of "Mizzou: What Could Have Been..."

Arkansas @ Ole Miss... The Rebels have played Florida and Alabama to the ropes at home this year. They could be eating "Roasted Hawgz" in Oxford after this one...

You had to think, Louisville would show up sooner-or-later...

Yes, I believe I'll add, "Northwestern" to my list of most exciting teams to watch. First, you had the Michigan State OT Barn-Burner, this week, you had the Rally at Ryan Field 2OT sequel. What's next? Bowl eligibility in the same season you lost to Duke?

Dear Wisconsin: A Note of Consolation - The higher you are, the harder you fall.

Welcome back to #1, Ohio State. Let's not waste the opportunity this time, OK?

Sigh. Florida State, the Bowden era has ended. It's time to move-on, and let someone else re-establish the Sunshine State dynasty. Let's say, a son of the patriarch himself?

Terry Bowden DID go undefeated at Auburn the year pops won his first title, btw.

Ironic because, had Auburn not been on probation and banned from the post-season, the son would have battled against the father for the national championship. And, I think, the stats show the younger would have had a good chance to win...

In closing, my note to Jones and company at Hawai'i: Your schedule does not afford you the luxury to be taken into overtime by sub .500 teams. Oh wait, isn't that everyone on your schedule up to this point? You want to reach the promised BCS land, we want you to beat these teams by 70 every week. If fail to meet our demands, we may fail to meet yours.
