Oswego and Plattsburgh.... One of the greatest rivalries in all of collegiete hockey will meet for the first time this season on Saturday night in Plattsburgh. The last time these two teams were together was the SUNYAC Championships last March in Plattsburgh with the host Cardinals getting the OT victory over the Lakers.

The times have changed since last season as both starting goaltenders are no longer with their teams. Tim Potter, former Oswego goalie is now playing in the ECHL and Brian Hince, SUNYAC Player of the Year last year is no longer at Plattsburgh.

Is this the year that Oswego finally gets a win against Plattysburgh? The last time that happened was back in December of 2006. Oswego has had a successful season up to this point after the Lakers swept the weekend series in Western New York, taking care of Buffalo State 4-1 and Fredonia 7-4. Oswego comes into the game Saturday at Stafford with a record of 3-1. But before they have to head up to Plattsubrgh, the Lakers need to take care of business in Potsdam against the Bears on Friday night

The Cardinals come into the game against the Lakers with a record of 2-0 after a sweep of Brockport and Geneseo. Both teams are at a perfect 2-0 in SUNYAC Play heading into this weekend. Plattsburgh hosts Cortland on Friday night before hosting the Lakers.

Plattsburgh is ranked first according to the USCHO Preseason Poll with the Lakers ranked 8th. The game is available online on Oswego's own 88.9 FM WNYO and online at www.wnyo.org For any fans wanting to watch the game, the game will be televised via live videostream on the Internet through a partnership with student-operated Plattsburgh State Television and PrimeLink. The game starts at 7 p.m. in the Stafford Ice Arena.

Fans can tune in by logging onto www.primelink1.com, and then clicking on the banner to launch the streaming video page.  The video player may not be active until the game begins.

The Plattsburgh Sports Information Office will also be offering its LiveStats feature where a computer user can follow the play-by-play accounts as well.
