Wednesday Marks Start of 2009-2010 Hoosier Basketball Season

Bleacher ReportNov 4, 2009

Tonight, after months of hype and waiting, basketball finally returns to the Hall.

The Indiana Hoosiers will play their first game of the 2009-2010 season versus Grace College.

While it is only an exhibition game, it is still going to be a great chance to see our youngsters in action.

This will be the 110th season of Indiana basketball, and it will sure be one to watch.

IU welcomes in a heralded six-man freshman class along with Jeremiah Rivers, who transferred to Indiana before last season.

The Hoosiers also return key players Verdell Jones, Tom Pritchard and Devan Dumas.

Tonight, everyone on the 15-man roster should get at least a few minutes of playing time. The only exceptions are Bret Finkelmeier and Devan Dumas, who are still recovering from injury, and Bawa Muniru, who is still awaiting clearance from the NCAA.

With the poor performance by the Hoosier football team on the gridiron, more and more people have turned their eyes towards Assembly Hall, where tonight at 7:00 P.M. ET the basketball team will be able to showcase their skills and prove they deserve to be Hoosiers.

Probable Starters:

Guard: Verdell Jones

Guard: Maurice Creek

Guard: Jeremiah Rivers

Forward: Christian Watford

Forward/Center: Tom Pritchard

My Prediction

Indiana wins 104-73
