Boston Bruins: More Teddy Than Grizzly Bear?

Never poke a bear with a short stick. Well we all know this old saying and know that it means don’t antagonize a grizzly bear.

Well the Bruins are playing more like teddy bears than grizzly bears.

They have scored only 2 goals in the last 3 games. After beating the Oilers 2-0 on Halloween, the Bruins gave us a treat.

Since then it has been nothing but tricks.

Tricking us, to believe that they can compete with the likes of their Original Six brethren, New York and Detroit. They played well defensively allowing only 3 goals to the Rangers and Red Wings, but you won’t win any of those games if you can’t put the biscuit in the basket.

Back to Back shutouts.

Clanking and chinging of posts and crossbars.

Powerless Power Play.

Hovering around .500.

The Bruins are treading water. They miss Lucic and Savard. Is it possible to even say that they miss Mr. Kessel?

They have fixed their penalty kill issues with the additions of Daniel Paille and the promotion of Brad Marchand.

However, that has been the lone bright spot in this maddening season thus far.

So get your Tums, Maalox, and Mylanta ready.

There is going to be a lot of heartburn Bruins fans.
