Alright, This Brandon Spikes Situation Is Getting Ridiculous

A while ago I actually heard an analyst on ESPN say that what Brandon Spikes did to Washaun Ealey was assault and should be treated as such. Really? He said this was NOT football and it's no different then if it had happened at a movie theatre. WOW! Quick, somebody dig up all the old Trevor Matich footage and let's see how many dirty moves he pulled in his career. I'll guarantee you he didn't make Notre Dame's starting offensive line by being a gentleman.

So Trev, I guess using your logic baseball pitchers should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon for throwing at a hitter who digs in at the plate a little too comfortably or stares at his home run?

I guess race car drivers who utilize the "chrome horn" and cause a wreck should be charged with reckless driving?

Fist fights are "part of the game" in hockey. At movie theatres, it's called assault and battery.

I understand you have to justify the multitude of ESPN channels re-hashing the same old tired garbage hour after hour, but this is beyond ridiculous. Hey idiot, why do they put facemasks on helmets? Because they didn't have them originally. And why do most players have plastic visors on them now? I'll give you a hint, it's not to keep the sun out of their eyes.

Should Spikes be sitting out more than a half? Yeah, he should. If it was me, he's out for two games. But the rest of the season? Are you kidding me? And why are you idiots at ESPN not taking the Michigan player to task that punched an Illinois player right in the family jewels? I'll tell you why. Because Meesh-i-gin isn't on it's way to a third National Title in four years (five if you count hoops).

But THE most idiotic thing this moron said was Blount from Oregon should've been back weeks ago because "he was provoked" and Spikes was worse because "he planned it." Oh really? So you can read minds now? All the way from Bristol? And we won't mention the fact that Blount tried to fight EVERYBODY in the building on his way out. No, that's just details. I guess the fans, the cops, and his own teammates provoked him too? Do us a favor Matich and go sell insurance.

Where can I comment?
