Cancer and Sports Pt.29: UTerLee High Hopes, Jeff Not so Much

PHILADELPHIA - NOVEMBER 01: Chase Utley #26 of the Philadelphia Phillies rounds third base on his solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning against the New York Yankees in Game Four of the 2009 MLB World Series at Citizens Bank Park on November 1, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We have...High Hopes ♫ High Apple Pie in the Sky Hopes ♫♫♫!

It was the break out game and probably a day late and a penny short.  For me it was a game to watch and enjoy with Jeff - thus, no blog.  (There was also the New Orleans game on TV during commercials.)

Cliff Lee has to be the best pick up of the Phillies and Cole Hamels the biggest disappointment (watch your mouth...maybe more practice and less play off season, Cole?).  Chase Utley now tied Reggie Jackson for most home runs during a World Series and with great fielding and stealing the bases...well I am the first Utley's Buttley for a reason!

The Phillies (other than Ryan Howard) found their bats and the game was enjoyable on many levels.  Pressure was off, I assumed that it was a do or die and with Lee it would be a do.  I also wanted to take a cat nap and really lie in bed, jammies and all and watch the game with Jeff, no distractions.  Unfortunately, last night's win and the NO Atlanta game did more to agitate that help Jeff.  Chemo is a funny thing and we are in the bad period at the moment when the effects are at their worst.  AS Shane Victorino took the hit to the hand I took a reality hit  (ice that hand shane)! So far no deadly high fever, but there is a definite personality change in Jeff.  Fortunately the changes are fleeting but I was surprised that it happened during a winning game.

Tonight we are off - no sports (I am ignoring everything and going to let my mind drift!) .  I am hoping that a night off will help everyone - including the Phillies!  Will they win the whole enchilada?  I personally doubt it but I bet we will win the next game in the Bronx and make it a 7 game series.

Kudos to Chase Utley who now owns the moniker Mr. November!   Maybe we have to count on Harry, Whitey and Tugger...Ya' Gotta' Believe...and we sweep the last games.  I hope I am wrong about Yankees in 7 and we make it Phillies in 7.  Are we destined?
