There was only one beneficiary form the “don’t bump don’t race rule” sprung on the teams hours before the race.

Let me leave you in suspense. (Jeopardy music)

Time is up! Here is the answer:

Jimmie Johnson! Jimmie Johnson! Jimmie Johnson!

Agree?

The only opportunity to make this chase interesting was for No. 48 to have a bad race or a DNF, the “no bumping in the turns rule” took that away.

I know that’s not a very nice thing to wish for ,but the truth is what it is , we can all agree on that , can’t we?

I may be out of line here , but is my understanding that “race cars and race drivers” do this thing called “racing” on something called a “race track“.

Am I wrong?

All I seen Sunday at Talladega was a parade of colorful cars fallowing each other around a circle, and boring both the drivers and the fans.

Three hours of waiting for something to happen, and no racing in between.

I think it was Tony Stewart that asked his crew chief for something to do, I guess driving a race car wasn’t enough.

I took the task of polishing my silverware during the race, it was a better alternative than sleeping.

So here we are three races to go in this chase and the closest chaser is 185 point out, hum! I guess is over.

Jimmie Johnson spend most of the race in the back thirty , I would suspect a little embarrassed, after all this is a three time champion who is defending his crown, and his team chose to hide him in the back.

If I was a fan who paid hundreds of dollars to get to a race and watch the biggest star in the show drive, by choice, in the rear of the pack most of the race, I would want my money back.

Sorry, that’s just the way I look at this.

Of course we most give credit to the folks on the No.48 team, they'er not only good, but also very lucky , how did No. 48 not get collected in that wreck is just amazing, he was in the top 20 when it happened, the NASCAR gods must be looking after him.

Well at least we know who the champion is for the 2009 season, there is no doubt about that.

After watching the driver interviews, one common sentiment came to the surface, the drivers are not happy with NASCAR.

But life does go on and this chase is over.

The sixth place finish by Jimmie Johnson is as good as a win, the spinning is over.

Congratulation Jimmie Johnson! You are the man.
