Sitting in my front room two hours ago I thought this is it, this is when Benitez will steer the ship towards three points and a win before the crucial champions league game in Lyon .

Basically what we get is "gubbed " The million's spent on mediocore players that can beat Manchester United and can not beat Fulham . The inconsitency that has plagued his reign is still there for us all to see.

I was siting in a bar in August waiting excitedly for the first game of the season against spurs, excited that this could be our year. My excitment lasted just before kick off when I noticed the bench, then I noticed Tottenham's and thought " Id rather have Crouch, Bentley, Defoe and Keane in my side than Vorrinon , Ngog , Babel and Kuyt.

I know Kuyt is quite popular but come on be fair his first touch is a tackle.

All I hear from supporters and pundits is that his work rate is fantastic, If he actually had a first touch on him and didnt give the ball away so much he might actually not have to work so hard in the first place.

Instead of us supporters of this fantastic club barrack and blame the American's again lets just take an unbiased view and look at the facts. Rafa has wasted Millions on  second rate mostly foreign players who would not get into United,Chelsea and Arsenal's first team. I am a huge Rafa supporter and the guy deserves our respect for life for what he has done for the club, Im not even saying he should go and he should go now, but his transfer policy must change. I can't believe that in our reserves and youth teams we haven't got a left back that is better than Dossena , Spearing is a better player than Lucas , Look at the millions we could have saved already.

But my biggest bug bear is that we do not seem to go for Premiership quality players.

We look at players like Darren Bent and Jermaine Defoe as they are not good enough for our club, we sign Robbie Keane and let him go after 6 months, are you telling me that our strikers apart from Fernado Torres are better than these players ?

This is going to be a frustrating season for us reds fans and the reason for the frustration is that after five years of promise we still don't have the squad for a title challenge, we have spent millions on players, but not on building a team .

The quicker this season finshes the better at the moment .
