A New Monday Night War? TNA May Take On WWE On Mondays

The wrestling websites have been buzzing recently about two things, Hogan joining TNA and a possible TNA Monday night show to compete with Raw.  I'm having deja vous because i remember another company years ago that had Hogan sign on, bischoff in the back and then soon after they added a Monday night show, oh wait, its called WCW.

If this is crazy to anyone else too let me know, because i can't believe that TNA signed Hogan and is also planning a Monday night show.  If they do end up on Monday nights i'll probably check it out since i can DVR both shows, but for those without the luxury of TIVO and DVR they have to choose.

Will TNA get a big ratings push on Monday or will it just make Raw and TNA both weaker.  Drawing viewers from Raw is one thing, bringing in new viewers is another.  Back during the day of the wars both WWE and WCW had as much a five million viewers a piece, factor in people switching back and forth and you maybe end up with eight million total viewers.  Today Raw is lucky to pull in over three million viewers.

I say TNA would do better competing with smackdown since its not available in all markets.

What kind of Impact (Pardon the pun) would TNA make if they launched a two hour Monday night show?  Would we see a reemergence of wrestling fans yearning for competition that breeds good story lines and even better wrestling, or would we see the same number of people we have now, split between the two shows.  Would we see a crop of new stars emerge from the fire or would we see the two brands major stars fizzle out?

I don't know what kind of financial backing TNA has at the moment but i don't think its anywhere near what WCW had back in the mid nineties having been owned by Ted Turner at the time.  If TNA has the Monday show in the same Impact Zone arena they have their Thursday show in then they would just get boring, if they went on tour with the show their talent would be traveling more and therefore requiring more money.

My question to you is would TNA survive a monday night war or would they be thrown to the side much like wrestling society x was?
