My NBA Players Lists: The Lovers and the Haters

With the NBA barely tipping off just a few shorts days ago, I recently updated my “favorites” and “despised” players list on my CBS Sports profile page.

So, without further adieu, here’s my list. Let me know if you catch the teams (both collegiate and professional) that ring out in both the “faves” and “hates” lists…

Favorite Players in the NBA: J.J. Redick, Aaron Brooks, Brian Cook, Brian Skinner, Carl Landry, Carlos Boozer, Chase Budinger, Chris Duhon, Chuck Hayes, Corey Maggette, Dahntay Jones, David Andersen, Elton Brand, Gerald Henderson, Grant Hill, Jermaine Taylor, Joey Dorsey, Josh McRoberts, Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Luol Deng, Mike Dunleavy, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Shane Battier, Shavlik Randolph, Shelden Williams, Tracy McGrady, Trevor Ariza, Yao Ming.

Despised Players in the NBA: Acie Law, Adam Morrison, Andrei Kirilenko, Andrew Bynum, Blake Griffin, Brandon Roy, Derek Fisher, Deron Williams, Greg Oden, Jordan Farmar, Kobe Bryant, Kyle Korver, Lamar Odom, Luke Walton, Matt Harpring, Mehmet Okur, Pau Gasol, Paul Millsap, Ron Artest, Ronnie Brewer, Sasha Vujacic, Sean May, Shannon Brown, Steve Blake, Ty Lawson, Tyler Hansbrough, Wayne Ellington.

Okay, so it’s a given that I love Duke and despise UNC; and professionally, I love the Rockets and truly despise the L.A. Lakers (with Utah getting a close second).

Before the emails and hate mail begins pouring in, keep in mind this is just one writer’s opinion. Some of the players mentioned in my “despised” list no doubt have a ton of talent; while some in my “favorites” list may play minimal roles on their teams.

But there you have it: my faves and hates in the NBA. I’m looking forward to a very entertaining season…
