Enough Of The Old Guys, Can We See Some New Blood!!!!

Matthew HesterSenior Writer IOctober 29, 2009

After having to watch John Cena and Randy Orton feud over the last year. I will be honest and say that I was jumping for joy once it was over. If I had to watch them wrestle again I think I would have lost my sanity.

I said to myself, we were finally going to see some new blood get a shot at the belt. As I was watching Raw these feelings would only be confirmed after watching the Miz and Swagger promo.

I figured they would make a match between Swagger and the Miz for the number 1 spot. Well I couldn’t have been anymore wrong. Once again, the WWE not only pulled the wool over my eyes, but they also managed to disappoint me at the same time.

That’s right kiddies, instead of the WWE giving us a fresh championship match. They gave us the same leftover crap they always dish out. This time we get another serving of HHH and HBK.

Now before anyone explains to me why this match is supposed to be fresh. Let me assure all of you that I do get it. DX would have to go against each other because it’s everyone for them.

WOO HOOOOO, what crazy shenanigans that is. What will happen in this match? I just hope they can manage to remain friends. Give me a freaking break already, this is such a lame angle its not even funny.

Now before all of you HBK and HHH marks go nuts. I would kindly ask that you hear me out before you get your axes out. All I ever hear is people complain about the title matches not being fresh.

How does putting these two fossils in the title match help? HHH has had more than his fair share of shots at the title. If you want to make an argument for HBK, that would be a fair point.

But even HBK’s act is older then my grandpas dentures. I can call an HBK match blindfolded if I wanted to. What the people want to see is the new blood step in and get a chance.

Whether it is Swagger, Kingston, or the Miz; any of these guys would be much more exciting to watch then the current refurbished garbage they give us. Let me break it down a little further for you.

For starters, all three of the names mentioned above can bring it in the ring. There isn’t a bad pick amongst them as far as that goes. So I am sure any of them would deliver more than a capable title match.

It is also worth pointing out that these guys are the future for the company. At some point we need to see if these guys can deliver the goods in the main event. Even if they don’t win the title we should see if they could bring it.

I don’t want to hear any of that these guys aren’t ready crap. Just when will these guys be ready? No one will ever know until these guys are given a chance. All I am asking is that we get a chance to see if they can cut it.

When we see HHH in a main event we know what we will get. When we see Orton, HBK, or Cena, we also know what we will get. We don’t know what we will get if we see Swagger, the Miz, or Koffi Kingston.

Maybe I am wrong here, but isn’t that half the fun of watching wrestling. Seeing whether the new blood will pan out. We will never see that if they are never given the opportunity to.

In wrestling, new blood becomes old blood fast. I just hope we get to see some of the new blood before it dries up and is forgotten about.

I thank all of you again for joining me today.

As always, have a safe and blessed day.
