TNA Report: Hogan-Bischoff Sign, Ric Flair Rumors and a New WCW?
Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls-of-Fire, What a Week!!!!
Well we Wrestling fans have plenty to discuss and argue over this week. To coin a phrase "What's Causin' all this?" To answer is simply Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling. Dixie Carter has signed Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan earlier this week and rumors are flying in from all sides. Let me elaborate:
Ric Flair:
It has been "rumored" That Wrestling's Greatest Champion Ric Flair is on the verge of signing a deal with TNA.
First of all Ric Flair, as everyone knows has been in the news a lot lately, and it seems that everyone is pulling out the hate-on-Flair card. Ok so the guy has made some mistakes, but give me a break, he's struggling paying off money-grubbing women who don't deserve the cash.
Early September, Flair signed a deal to wrestle Hulk Hogan in Australia, although many were outraged, most wrestling fans said ok, as long as he doesn't start wrestling full-time in the US of A.
It is now a few days from Halloween, and seeing that Flair, Hogan and Bischoff are working together in Australia. Many believe that The Nature Boy will follow his new "Odd Couple- Esq" buddy Hogan and do the same.
Personally, I hope this doesn't happen. I love Flair and he can pretty much get over any kind of bad press with a smile and a promo. However, the only way wrestling fans would be able to swallow this signing is if Naitch is not wrestling.
Now let's take a trip out of Nashville, TN, and make our way up to Connecticut. I would not put it past Vince to call Naitch and offer him a role, paying atleast 500K plus benefits like First-Class flights. However TNA being privately owned will definately try and compete for Flair, possibly offering him more, but in the end Vince will up the price and because of Shawn, Hunter and Batista, I would see Flair signing with WWE.
It will be interesting to see if Vince buys Flair out of the Australia project as well. Vince is probably fuming at Hogan right now, but who knows maybe Vince would love the competition. Flair recently said that his lawyers or somebody close to the business stated that it would take at least 450 Million dollars to even begin to compete with Vince. I don't thing TNA has that, but who knows.
Bottom-Line: I Hope Flair signs a non-competitive role with WWE, it's just better for both ends.
TNA on Monday Nights?:
Also rumored lately is TNA wanting a Monday Night slot.
Ok, I'm all for TNA competing with WWE, but the odds are stacked.
Hogan has draw power still, however people are through seeing him as World Champion, and I feel like TNA is going to try and push him to that.
If TNA wants to be WCW, thats ok with me, hell it would be entertaining for all fans.
It will be interesting to see how "BIG" a role "Easy E" plays in this situation. I think he's learned from his first time on the block and if anyone can do it..... it's Bischoff.
Bottom Line: It would be a lot of fun for wrestling fans....and if they got the cash...History can always repeat itself.
