West Virginia Mountaineers Vs. South Florida Bulls Football Picks

This Friday night, two of the Big East’s best football teams square off on ESPN2.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will face the South Florida Bulls in what should be an entertaining Friday night college football game.

The Mountaineers come with a 6-1 record and are still alive in the Big East championship race. South Florida comes in with a decent record of their own at 5-2.

If you're looking for Winning College Football Picks, the Bulls have owned the recent series with West Virginia by winning two out of the last three. They have managed to keep West Virginia to a 15-point per game average during those games, which is no small task with the way they run the ball.

For West Virginia, it’s all about the running game. For the last several years, they have been a great running team, churning out Steve Slaton and Pat White. This year, the running game relies on Noel Devine. The junior running back is one of the best in the country and currently averages the seventh most running yards in the nation.

Last game against UConn, he managed to put up 171 rushing yards in the second half and scored the winning touchdown. The Mountaineers go as the running game goes, and this year they look pretty strong.

As far as free football picks go, if South Florida hopes to compete in this game, they will have to play better against the run. So far this season, they are seventh in the Big East against the run and give up over 130 yards per game. They are the best team in the conference against the pass; however, some of that might be attributed to the fact that everyone can run on them.

Why pass when you can just run the entire game? If South Florida can somehow contain Devine, this should be a very competitive game that goes down to the wire.
