Allsports thinks what choice did Moyes have

Walt WebbOct 27, 2009

So if you are following sports on the web or sports news today you will see that Phoenix Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes has agreed to sell his bankrupt franchise to the NHL  But really what choice does he have here while having a team in Gary’s NHL

Since Judge Baum rejected the best and only other offer for the team, Moyes is stuck playing Bettman ball here. Not only was the NHL offer over 100 million lower than the rejected Balsillie bid but with each passing day the NHL offer dwindles more because the operating expenses for the franchise are being taken off the top.

This is kind of what I was alluding to in a previous post, written back on October 7th when Judge Baum non ruling was handed down. The post was called “Allsports Commentary: Bettmans win is an NHL Loss”

Former coach Wayne Gretzky, who has a $22.5 million claim in the case, has not agreed to the deal.

It is pretty easy to pay your price when your the only game in town. Good luck finding someone to buy the team and keep them in Arizona Gary. You will have to sell cheap.
