SEC road games are the toughest games for top dogs like Florida to survive through. Home games aren't that much easier, just look at how Alabama blocked Tennessee from a stunning upset.

Tim Tebow threw a couple of picks in Starkville against Mississippi State. He made a ton of plays also as Florida did stay undefeated. They will probably move to the top of the AP poll this week since Alabama won such a close game.

Isn't that a great way to decide who is best? On a bunch of variables that go into how voters vote for the top teams in the country.

In the Big XII, Colt McCoy took the Longhorns on a road game to Missouri and whooped the Tigers. In the Big Ten, Iowa went on the road to Michigan State and a classic finish broke out. Kirk Ferentz watched Michigan State take a late lead then saw Ricky Stanzi march the Hawkeyes down the field. Derrell Johnson-Koulianos had some key catches but it was Marvin McNutt that caught the game winning pass as time expired.

Iowa is still undefeated if you need 'em. The home teams in the Pac-10 and ACC had some tough games too. USC made a critical first down late to hold off Oregon State. Miami lost in overtime to Clemson when Jacoby Ford took a pass from Kyle Parker so in the goofy overtime that college football has, that was the last play of the game.

Miami was the only top ten team to lose and the top six undefeated teams all won. TCU had a convincing win in Provo over BYU so they might move to number seven over the one loss Trojans in the BCS.

Isn't it great that we have computers doing some of our polls? Florida might move back up to No. 1 in the AP, where we know that people are voting.

That is amazing to me, the AP breaks away from the BCS so we can still have co-national champs. The BCS was put together so there would not be anymore co-national champions.

I might have found another flaw in the BCS and I wasn't even looking this time.

One last thought...

Tragedy struck the world of college football when the Connecticut Huskies lost Jasper Howard. West Virginia has always been my favorite Big East team and the fans in Morgantown showed everyone in the nation how classy they are. Football is a game and games are merely distractions and in times of grief, distractions and games become important in the mourning process.

Sometimes overloading your mind can put other things in a quiet place for a moment. Connecticut played a great game to honor Jasper Howard, that is what I will always remember.
