As we approach bragging rights this weekend, a couple of thoughts come to my mind. The first and foremost is, how can the WWE charge 40 bucks for 5 matches? Unless they add some at the last minute then I would have to say this is a rip off.
The next thing that bothers me this Sunday is the lack of build up that was put into this PPV. Other than Cena vs. Orton and the Miz vs. Morrison, the matches feel rushed and thrown together. As hard as I try I can’t help feel that this Sundays PPV is a bad rush job.
Also I just would like to throw something out there for everyone to ponder on. Why the heck isn’t in ECW in the PPV at all. Last I checked they were part of the WWE universe.
Now that I have got my rambling out of the way; lets get to the business at hand shall we?
6 Divas Raw vs. Smackdown Tag match
On team Smackdown we have Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, and Natalya. On the other side we have Melina, Kelly Kelly, and Gail Kim. All of these ladies are fine wrestlers and know how to bring it once the bell rings.
That being said, I can’t help but feel this is nothing more then a throw away match. There was no build up at all for this match. I would be shocked if this bout even went ten minutes. It’s like they threw this match in at the last minute so they could justify the price of the PPV.
As far as the action in the ring goes, I am sure they ladies will do a fine job with what little time they get. Expect a fair amount of near falls, hot tags, and high spots. In the end I think we will see team Smackdown come away the victors in this one.
Winner: Team Smackdown
The Miz vs. John Morrison
This match was a long anticipated match ever since the draft. These guys were long time tag partners now foes. It is the classic tale of tag partners that go the different ways. I just hope that payoff match lives up to the hype.
Both of these men are very solid in the ring. Since they have split they have done a good job creating a nitch for them selves. Morrison has gone on to become the IC champ, and the Miz went on to become the US champ.
I think that both of them becoming champ adds some extra juice to this match. I found the Marty Jannetty comparisons to be a little tasteless though. Marty Jannetty in his prime could out wrestle the both of these guys blind folded.
This match should turn out to be a splendid one. The action should be hot, and if the crowd can’t get pumped for this one, than they should stop watching wrestling all together. I expect this match to go at least 20 minutes.
No matter who wins in this match both men should come out looking good. This could turn out to be a very special bout if done right. In the end though I think we will see JoMo come out ahead in this one.
Winner: John Morrison
Cena vs. Orton in 60 min no DQ Iron man match
When it comes to Iron man matches, I am very skeptical. Over my many years of watching wrestling I have seen these matches go both ways. Some have been really good and some have been really boring.
What determines these kinds of matches are the wrestlers in the ring. As far as this match goes, I am pretty sure it should be a solid bout. These two have been feuding all year so I’m sure they can pull of a good match.
The big question is; will this be the end of Cena’s run on Raw? I really would be shocked if Cena won this match. I think the WWE wants to try to help out Smackdowns ratings. Who better then every kiddies favorite John Cena.
I think that there are a lot of other ways that could help that show other then Cena. But I will save that discussion for another day. I also think that having Cena win the belt would only cheapen Orton’s win form last month.
Winner: Randy Orton
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk vs. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio in a fatal four way
This should have been the match that the Undertaker won the title. Instead they gave it to him last month at HIAC. The WWE totally did a number on CM Punk over the last year. They didn’t even give him a proper one on one rematch.
I can’t fully put my finger on this match, I’m sure it will be a fine match. I am just not sure who will come out the victor. I guess in a way that is a good thing. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see any of these four win it.
If Batista wins this match it would help his solidify his comeback. If Mysterio wins it then it would help him regain any momentum he lost after his suspension. If Punk wins then it would also help him regain some juice after last months lost.
Since I have to pick someone I am going to have some fun. I pick Mysterio to win this match on Sunday. If one this would help lead into an interesting feud with Batista. Maybe it happens; maybe it doesn’t; only time will tel
