Kevin Owens Emerging as Workhorse Heel WWE Raw Desperately Needs

After Monday's episode of WWE Raw, the real MVP of the London event was Kevin Owens.

Not only did he put on a show-stealing match against Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, but he also filled in for Jinder Mahal in the main event and qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Right now, Raw lacks elite heels. If WWE Creative is looking for a Superstar who can be the perfect antagonist to stifle and thwart the plans of the company's best protagonists, Owens is the correct answer.

On the mic, there are few performers in the wrestling business today who can verbally stand toe-to-toe with Owens. Even when the crowds cheer him initially because he does have so much talent, he knows exactly how to turn the fans against him by running them down and belittling their hometown or something they hold dear.

Owens is also one of the best in-ring storytellers on the roster. Not only can he work the type of athletically impressive matches he put on against Rollins, but he can also work against less-experienced talent and help them tell a convincing story in the ring.

Raw has top stars like Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley who could use an elite talent to work against and bring out their best. Just as Samoa Joe did before he was moved to SmackDown, Owens can become the most-hated villain on the red brand.

Another reason he is the perfect candidate for being Raw's top heel is his experience level. With over 15 years in the business and previous time as both Universal champion on Raw and as a top heel on SmackDown, Owens has proved he is the ideal challenger to any top good guy.

Add in the fact that he also has the help of Sami Zayn, another talented Superstar who knows how to tell a story and be annoying to the faces and the fans, and there is no one on Raw who deserves the top heel spot more than Owens.

Moreso than Mahal or anyone else on the Raw roster, Owens has everything needed to be the workhorse heel Raw needs.
