No Way Jose Pins Jobber John Skyler in Main Roster Debut on WWE Raw

Joseph ZuckerApr 9, 2018

No Way Jose made his Raw debut on Monday, a night after WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Jose won a squash match against jobber John Skyler, using his knockout punch to pick up the victory. Before that, he led a massive conga line from backstage down to the ring:

Although WWE generally calls up a number of NXT stars after major pay-per-views, Jose is a somewhat surprising addition to the main roster. He lost his last televised NXT match to Velveteen Dream, and he hadn't appeared in an NXT TakeOver since TakeOver: Brooklyn II in August 2016.

Adam Rose, Tyler Breeze and Fandango are cautionary tales for Jose. Jose's unique persona helped him build a following in NXT, but that may be difficult to replicate on Raw or SmackDown, as Rose, Breeze and Fandango found.

Granted, Elias had a pretty nondescript NXT run yet has since become one of the hottest stars on Raw, so the move up may allow Jose an opportunity to shine he didn't necessarily receive in NXT.
