WWE WrestleMania 34 Matches: Bouts Most Likely to Steal the Show
WrestleMania 34 has arrived, and that means Sunday is the biggest night of the year for everyone appearing on the card.
The pay-per-view has 13 announced matches, according to WWE.com, and that doesn't include John Cena vs. The Undertaker, which we all know is going to happen.
This is one of the most stacked cards in 'Mania history. Every title will be on the line, two large trophies are up for grabs in the Battle Royals and Ronda Rousey will make her in-ring debut as a pro wrestler.
You would think this was one of the more important 'Mania anniversaries with the number of dream matches management has booked. And every one of them has the potential to steal the show.
Let's take a look at which bouts are the most likely to outshine the rest Sunday.
Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali
1 of 5A tournament began on January 30 to crown a new cruiserweight champion after the company released Enzo Amore and stripped him of the title.
The brackets were filled with 205 Live mainstays and a few new faces in the division, but only two men could make it to the final round.
Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander put on incredible performances in their tournament matches, and they have both impressed with their charisma during the non-wrestling segments of this storyline.
We got a little taste of what they are capable of when they faced off in a singles bout one week before the beginning of the tourney, and if their WrestleMania encounter is on the same level, it's going to be hard for anyone to follow them.
The Usos vs. New Day vs. Bludgeon Brothers
2 of 5Seeing two Superstars beat the stuffing out of each other is what being a WWE fan is all about, but there is something special about tag team wrestling that makes it more fun to watch than singles matches.
When a tag team works like a well-oiled machine, it can make a 20-minute match go by quickly because the action never slows down like it does during one-on-one contests.
The three teams battling for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships couldn't be more different from each other, but we already know what they are capable of.
The Usos, The New Day and The Bludgeon Brothers have had countless matches with every combination of opponents, and they almost always steal the spotlight from the main event.
Jimmy and Jey Uso, Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston have incredible chemistry after feuding over the titles for the past year. Including Harper and Rowan adds a level of unpredictability to this match and freshens up the storyline at the same time.
This is one of the bouts WWE should save for later in the show. If fans become sluggish after sitting in the same seat for several hours, The Usos, New Day and Bludgeon Brothers are guaranteed to wake them up.
Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
3 of 5Asuka's undefeated streak has taken on a life of its own since she debuted with the company in 2015, and WWE management has made sure to remind us of her winning ways at every opportunity.
Keeping her and Charlotte Flair on separate brands after The Empress of Tomorrow was called up to the main roster in 2017 was a smart move.
It allowed the idea of Asuka vs. Charlotte to build in the minds of fans before we knew whether the match would happen.
These are two Superstars with a lot of experience and big chips on their shoulders. They need to prove they are the best, and the only way they can do that is together.
When The Queen finally meets Asuka in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania, the WWE Universe won't be able to contain its excitement.
The big unknown in this situation is Carmella. She is always lurking around with her Money in the Bank contract, so Asuka and Charlotte need to watch their backs.
The Miz vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor
4 of 5WWE made sure every title match scheduled for WrestleMania would have the potential to be great, but one bout stands out as having the most potential.
The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship is a lock to be one of the best matches of the night unless WWE plans something silly like a 10-second victory.
These are three former world champions, and each possesses a unique set of skills. Balor and Rollins' value comes from their wrestling ability, but it's The Miz who has carried this storyline on the mic.
The A-Lister has made the IC title prestigious again by treating it as the most important belt in the company, and that has led to others wanting a run with the title.
Some fans may see fighting for a midcard championship as a demotion for these guys. But when you have three Superstars like Balor, Rollins and The Miz involved, it doesn't matter if they go on first, last or in the middle of the card. They are going to work hard to make sure their performance is memorable.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles
5 of 5While Styles vs. Nakamura is a dream match for many WWE fans, WrestleMania 34 will not be the first time they face each other.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling recently uploaded the pair's showdown from Wrestle Kingdom 10 to its YouTube channel to give fans a preview of what we can expect to see Sunday.
If the video above is anything to go by, The Phenomenal One and The Rock Star are going to tear down the house to the foundation.
Nakamura and Styles have already demonstrated great chemistry during the buildup to their big match, but they have refrained from attacking each other so they have no excuses when one of them loses Sunday.
Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar will likely close WresteMania, but the main event in the eyes of many members of the WWE Universe is going to be Styles vs. Nakamura.
Which match do you think will steal the show at WrestleMania 34?
