Conor McGregor Posts $50K Bail, Released from Jail After Friday Arraignment
Conor McGregor is out of custody after being released on $50,000 bail Friday, according to ESPN.com.
The 29-year-old star was arrested Thursday after crashing UFC 223 media day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and attacking a bus, which caused injuries to other fighters:
McGregor has been charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief.
TMZ Sports caught the action as police escorted him out of the building:
During Friday's arraignment, the judge issued an order of protection against McGregor on behalf of other fighters, which includes not contacting them via social media.
"There was a dispute about a vacated title, and the person he was arguing with was not injured," Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said, per ESPN.com. "He was on the bus, though."
According to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, McGregor will be allowed to leave the United States and fly home to Ireland under the terms of his bail package. Defense attorney Jim Walden asked for the mixed martial arts star to be allowed to keep his passport so he could continue to "pursue his craft," per ESPN.com: "He's the most visible face on the planet. He has no criminal history."
As a result of the attack, three fights were pulled from Saturday's UFC 223 card at the Barclays Center.
