Big Cass Confronts Daniel Bryan in WWE Return After Missing 8 Months with Injury
After nearly eight months on the shelf, Big Cass made his televised WWE return Tuesday night on SmackDown Live.
Cass moved to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up and teased a potential feud with Daniel Bryan, commenting on the height disparity between himself and the former world champion:
During a match against former tag team partner Enzo Amore on an August episode of Raw, Cass suffered a torn ACL in his left knee that required surgery.
Shortly prior to the injury, Cass had ended his partnership with Enzo and turned heel in an effort to become a singles star.
The 7-footer from Queens, New York, was making impressive headway in that quest by cutting strong, passionate promos and looking like a dominant force inside the ring.
Although Amore was often viewed as the true Superstar of the tag team because of his mic skills and over-the-top personality, Cass seemingly has all the tools needed to be a world champion one day.
His size and look are ideal, his charisma is underrated and his wrestling ability is above average, considering he is billed at 7'0" and nearly 300 pounds.
The WWE roster is already stacked with big-time talent on Raw and SmackDown Live in addition to the rising stars in NXT, but Cass stands out when compared to most and has a chance to go on a special run now that he is back in the fold.
WWE's landscape has changed over the years and allowed for smaller competitors such as AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and Bryan to reach the top of the mountain.
As evidenced by the rise of Braun Strowman, however, there is still plenty of room for big men to become major players in the company.
Cass will likely have to work his way back up the ladder following a lengthy absence, but the Superstar Shake-up should provide him with an opportunity to stand out and approach main event status in the near future.
