Austin Scott (pictured on the left) was a tailback for Penn State before he was eliminated from the team in 2007 due to the "breakage of team rules"... an accusation of rape.

Scott was accused of raping a female student on Oct. 5, 2007. Maintaining his innocents throughout the case, Scott was optimistic that these accusations would not ruin his dream of entering the NFL.

Unfortunately, that was not so.

Scott was a great player from his high school years through his college years. He was the most sought after tailback in the 2003 recruiting.

He loved playing football and it had been his dream to play in the NFL since he was young.

Scott had actually signed with the Cleveland Browns as a free agent in 2008, but was waived from the team shortly after.

Although found not guilty in the case, the allegations against Scott are still being carried with him. "Neither the NFL or the CFL are interested in pursuing Scott," said Scotts lawyer.

Scott is now filing a federal lawsuit against Penn State police, prosecutors, the university, and the accuser herself claiming that they all conspired against him.

He is suing for more than $150,000 saying that it was mentally and emotionally damaging. He is also saying that these false accusations have ruined any chance of "earning capacity" that he would have had.

When asked what students at Penn State thought about the craziness that was about to go on, they mostly responded neutrally. Although, some had a little more to say..

"It's unfortunate that this has happened to him but try to get on with your life. I think that if he was as good as he thinks he is at football, the NFL would see that these accusations were false and admit him anyway. Just try to move on and get a job", says an anonymous student.

"I would sue too! They really messed things up for Austin (Scott) and it was all for no reason. That's absurd," says Emily G.

I think that it sucks that things like this happen, but it happens. I'm glad that he's trying to gain some of his life back by filing the lawsuit, but I do think he needs to just move on and try to find happiness in another career.

Only time will tell...

I wish him luck in his upcoming challenges.
