"Celtics aren't gonna make it through the first round without Garnett."

"Even if they did win against the Bulls, it was seven games. I doubt they are gonna even steal a game off the Magic."

And

"I doubt it's gonna be a seven game series again against the Magic. The wins were flukes!"

Many doubted the Celtics last year. They got a small slap in the face, just a small one, as the Celtics did not get past the Magic.

But it was an achievement.

Rondo and Davis stepped up and played hard. The Celtics defined team basketball.

Which is why this year, you should not overlook this team.

The Celtics proved a lot in the preseason. In the last game against the Cavs, they showed that a W is not impossible without Garnett. In the highlights against the Knicks, we saw how beautiful team basketball could be.

I am not guaranteeing anything. Nor are the Celtics. But this preseason and, in fact, last year's playoffs showed how able the Celtics are and why they are contenders of the 18th banner.
