Tonight's game was not your regular preseason game, the intensity was close to that of a regular season game. Both teams stepped out onto the floor trying to prove something, even though it was just a preseason game. The Celtics ended up coming out on top by a score of 96-82. The game even involved a bit of pushing and shovingย at the end of theย first half. This was caused by Mo Williams giving Shelden Williams an elbow to the gut while in the rebounding process. The end result was Mo Williams getting pushed on the ground by Shelden and the rest of the Cavs punks coming over to protect their point guard. No punches thrown.

Going into tonight's game against the Cavs, many Celtics fans, including myself, thought that the game was going to be a one-sided blowout in favor of the Cavs. These thoughts came from the thought that the Big Three were not going to be suited. Well, Doc Rivers word that the Big Three would not play proved false. A very determined captain, Paul Pierce was itching to get his shot at Lebron James and the Cavs tonight. He could not wait another six days to prove that the Celtics are the beast of the east this year. Before the game the Boston Globe quoted Doc Rivers saying:

"Right now he is, if I can talk him out of it I will. But if he really wants to play, I?ll play him."

Apparently Doc was not able to talk Paul out of playing, Paul went on to play thirteen minutes and scored eleven points against a defense that is supposed to be one of the better defenses in the league, although they did not prove it tonight.

The other player that really stepped up tonight was Marquis Daniels, Quis got the starting spot tonight over a resting Ray Allen. Marquis followed up his seventeen point performance last night with a repeat performance, scoring seventeen points in thirty minutes of action. Marquis came into the game and pretty much blind sided the Cavs, they had no answer for him. He was able to get into the lane and score at will all night, embarrassing the Cavs new additions, Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon.

Overall this was a great way to wrap up the preseason against a teamย we willย be opening up the regular season against in six days. All thumbs up from me, I think all questions coming into the preseason have been answered. KG is healthy, the bench is stacked, and the team chemistry is at an all time high. So let's start counting down the minutes until we offically start the march towards banner 18.
