UA's Kicking Team Saban Finds Spurrier's Team Did Similar Thing! SEC Findings!

Ren C.Oct 21, 2009

After South Carolina's head coach Steve Spurrier made comments to the media regarding his "Video" finds with Alabama's Kicking team.  And the blogs and comments overloaded with a phethora of comments from fans on both sides.

Coach Nick Saban addresses the media with is comments and findings.  He was not aware that Fitzgerald was using anything during the kicks.  But it has been addressed, and since it is a five yard penalty thing, and kicking teams should not be doing it.  He addressed the issue and Alabama will not be doing anything to garner penalty or break kicking rules.

Coach Saban did some video research himself and he found that South Carolina Kickers did similar tape things on film too!  So now,Coach Spurrier and South Carolina Team is aware that they also broke the rule.

Coach Saban said looking at films, you can find teams across the board who at one time or another have broken this five yard penalty rule in kicking.

The good news is this.  Alabama Coaching Staff and Kicking team is fully aware now,and will not do anything to break the kicking rule.

South Carolina Coaching Staff and Kicking team is now fully aware that they were caught on Video doing pretty much the same thing in the past too,so they can now address this with their kicking team.

So all this media circus,Coach Spurrier calling the SEC,etc.  boils down to what?  His team did the same thing in essence and it's there on video.  And the SEC has ruled on this tape-gate,and said that the University of Alabama will not receive punishment. Tape-Gate Case closed.

The old adage of:  "Sweep out your own house and yard, before you go casting stones at another's house!"  Still holds true.  And all this proves is that Steve Spurrier is human and his teams makes the same mistakes.

There are no perfect Teams in NCAA football!  Only perfect intentions.
