AVONDALE, AZ - APRIL 17: Jamie McMurray (L), driver of the #26 Crown Royal Ford talks with Bobby Labonte, driver of the #96 Ford during practice for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on April 17, 2009 in Avondale, AZ. Silly season has been one of intrest this year.  Usually it is more rides than drivers now it is more drivers.  Let's take a look at 5 drivers and where they might just end up in 2010.

Jamie McMurray:perhaps the most talked about Silly Season driver this year.  He was considered a lock for the 1 car then reports came out that he isn't in the picture anymore.  Now it has surfaced that he is the guy for the 1 car and that former car owner Chip Ganassi wants him but they are trying to convince Bass pro shops that the Missouri native would appeal to their many customers.  Perhaps this is why McMurray and Earnhardt Ganassi haven't made an announcement just yet.

If he doesn't go to the 1 then the 07 car at Richard Childress racing is an option.  Reports are surfacing that Childress could be dumping Casey Mears as one of his big changes.  The 96 at Hall of fame racing is another option as it seems that Bobby Labonte will bolt from that team to TRG motorsports, and a 2nd car at TRG motorsports is alos an option.

My bet:Earnhardt Ganassi gets it's it all figured out and latest Homestead they will make annoucement about Jamie McMurray becoming the driver of the 1 car.

Bobby Labonte:The 2000 series championship finds himself looking for a ride in 2010.  While Hall of Fame racing wants to resign him, because of being taken out for 7 races this year for rookie Erilk Darnell, Labonte doesn't seem to keen on making a return.

The team that he has raced for when not in the 96 TRG motorsports is looking to get semi factory support from Dodge, and get technical support from Penske racing.  With the 44 and 26's points going away more than likely and the 71 car being 37th in owners points, Labonte would have a guaranteed starting spot in the first 5 races of 2010 and the team might expand to 2 car so he would have a teammate in the top 35 in owners points and he could get in on his championship provisional.

He is also up for the 07 at at Richard Childress racing.  With reports that Mears might be getting dumped.

My bet: He will join TRG motorsports fulltime in 2010 with David Gilliand as his teammate.

Reed Sorenson:Reed might be the only one of these 5 cup drivers not racing fulltime cup in 2010.

It looks like he will join Bruan racing for a fulltime season in either the 32 or the 10 car in 2010 and will attempt at least 5 cup races for Bruan racing in 2010.

It sounds like one of his sponsors from the 43 would like to floow Reed to Bruan and perhaps expand his cup schedule.

My bet:He will join Bruan racing.

David Stremme:David Stremme came back from nationwide to race the #12 dodge for Penske racing.

It hasn't panned put as he was told his driving services were no longer needed.  Not wanting to go back down to the nationwide series it looks like Stremme will go to the number 34 at Front Row motorsports and be with former crew chief Steve Lane.

My bet:David Stremme will be with Front Row motorports.

Casey Mears:Since 2005 Casey Mears has been in the 41, the 42, the 25, the 5 and the 07.  With 07 car Jack Daniels leaving RCR at the end of 2009 this leaves Mears looking for a sponsor and quite possible a ride.

Not too many option for Mears.  The 96 at Hall of fame racing is an option however and so is a 2nd car at TRG motorsports.

With RCR making big changes and moving his crew to Jeff Burton in 2010 reports have surfaced that Childress could be dumping because the 07 could be non existent.

My bet:The 07 will get sponsorship and Casey Mears will stay.
