Kyrie Irving Has Middle School Students Believing the Earth Is Flat

Regardless of which team he plays for next season, current Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving can't escape certain controversial comments he made earlier this year.

In February, the 25-year-old generated headlines when he stated on the Road Trippin' with R.J. & Channing podcast that he believes the Earth is flat.

Per Avi Wolfman-Arent of NPR, middle school teacher Nick Gurol claims some of his students have taken Irving's words to heart:

"And immediately I start to panic. How have I failed these kids so badly they think the Earth is flat just because a basketball player says it?"

Perhaps a group of new teammates could convince Irving to change his mind on the subject before the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
