Jason Garrett Says Ezekiel Elliott Is 'Not Perfect,' but Cowboys Believe in RB
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett still believes in Ezekiel Elliott even with a number of off-field concerns circulating around the running back.
"We believe in Zeke Elliott as a person and as a player," Garrett said Sunday, per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. "He's not perfect. He makes mistakes. We all make mistakes."
Garrett also explained, "We believe when you build with character, that gives you the best chance to have success," per Todd Archer of ESPN.com.

Garrett's comments come after the woman who accused Elliott of domestic violence in 2016 released a statement on social media, via TMZ Sports.
"Exactly one year ago today my life changed forever," she said. "I finally got the stretch to be the strong woman I was and got myself out of a very toxic relationship. Speak up and stop domestic violence."
Although Elliott was never arrested, the NFL investigated him in the aftermath of the accusations. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, the league's investigation into Elliott "is nearing completion."
Pelissero also released a statement from Dallas Police Department after the Cowboys running back was reportedly involved in a separate altercation at a bar last Sunday:
TMZ Sports shared video of the incident and noted witnesses said Elliott punched a man after the man became "involved in a verbal altercation with a woman who was in Ezekiel's party."
Adam Schefter of ESPN.com previously cited multiple sources who said Elliott could be facing a one- or two-game suspension once the 2017 season starts.
"The NFL is looking to pin something on him," one of the sources said.
