Preview
Mexico are the defending champions, and they beat Sunday's opponents Jamaica 3-1 in the final of the 2015 tournament.
El Tri have won three out of their four matches so far at the 2017 Gold Cup, with the only blemish on their record a 0-0 draw with Jamaica in the group stage.
That result will give the Reggae Boyz huge confidence they can go one better and oust Mexico on Sunday to book themselves a spot in the final.
Jamaica were defensive against Mexico in the teams' first meeting, but they exposed a big weakness in Juan Carlos Osorio's side: a lack of inventiveness and attacking intent.
ESPN's Tom Marshall pithily summarised the problem:
That has not been unique to the Jamaica clash. Mexico simply aren't scoring enough—they only beat Honduras 1-0 in the quarters.
That needs to change for Sunday's semi-final. El Tri have to be clinical in attack from the off; if they score early, they will be huge favourites to reach the final.
Jamaica are sure to be defensive again and try to frustrate Mexico. An quick goal for the holders, though, would blow that game plan out the water and force Jamaica to come forward and expose themselves in defence.
Mexico have a stronger side than Jamaica and should prevail. The first semi-final between United States and Costa Rica is more evenly matched.

Bruce Arena's U.S. are arguably stronger, but La Sele will be confident they can prevail in Texas.
The two sides both made it through to the knockout stages as group winners after each recording two wins and a draw, and it is likely to be a tight clash when they face off.
No other team in the tournament has scored more goals than the USMNT's nine. However, the hosts have also shown weakness at the back, most notably when they threw away a two-goal lead midway through the second half against minnows Martinique.
If the U.S. can keep it tight in defence,, they have more than enough firepower to beat Costa Rica and book a place in the final.
Predictions: United States to beat Costa Rica 3-1; Mexico to beat Jamaica 1-0 after extra time.
