Kyle Walker Reportedly Close to Signing for Manchester City in £50M Transfer
Manchester City have reportedly met Tottenham Hotspur's £50 million asking price for Kyle Walker and are "on the verge" of signing the right-back.
According to Matt Law in the Telegraph, both clubs expect Walker to make the move after City agreed to increase their offer past £40 million, which they had previously been reluctant to do.
Law added Walker, 27, is now unlikely to report for pre-season training with Spurs on Friday and is instead set to become the most expensive defender of all time, tied with David Luiz.

City's hand has been forced on the England international to a certain extent after key right-back target Dani Alves made a last-minute U-turn and joined Paris Saint-Germain, per The Times' Oliver Kay:
"Dani Alves to #PSG, not #MCFC. Unexpected blow for Guardiola, who had big plans for him. Also increases City desperation to get Kyle Walker

It has been expected for some time that Walker would leave Spurs this summer after he fell out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino late last season, per The Independent's Jack Pitt-Brooke.
The north London outfit have Kieran Trippier in their squad, who has proved he has the ability to become the No. 1 right-back.
And a £50 million fee will be a huge return on a player who joined Spurs with Kyle Naughton from Sheffield United for a combined £9 million fee in 2009.
