Luke Shaw Reportedly to Receive Man United Chance After Impressing Jose Mourinho
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to give Luke Shaw a chance to secure the first-choice left-back berth at the club.
According to Jamie Jackson in the Guardian, the Red Devils boss has been impressed by Shaw's "attitude and determination to take on board his demands," and he will reward him by giving him further opportunities at the start of next term.
As a result, the 22-year-old's United future is, for now, secure and Mourinho will "select him at left-back at the first reasonable opportunity" next term and challenge him to prove he is worth a first-team spot, per Jackson.

Shaw is recovering from an ankle ligament injury suffered in April that ruled him out of the end of the 2016-17 campaign, the latest in a string of fitness concerns that have dogged him since he joined United from Southampton for £27 million in 2014.

He endured a torrid campaign last season and was regularly criticised by Mourinho. Per The Times' Paul Hirst, the former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan boss "questioned [Shaw's] attitude, positioning and ability to read the game."
When the England international performed well against Everton in a 1-1 draw in early April, Mourinho said it was only because he was using "his body with my brain" and that Shaw needed "to change his football brain," per BBC Sport's Simon Stone.
The consistent injury troubles and harsh criticism from Mourinho resulted in speculation that Shaw would depart Old Trafford this summer, perhaps to reunite with former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur, per Hirst.
However, it seems now Shaw will be given a chance to prove himself, although he is likely running out of opportunities.
