Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Rumours, More
Arsenal are reportedly confident Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not leave the club during the summer, amid interest from Liverpool.
According to John Cross of the Daily Mirror, the Gunners are willing to start the 2016-17 campaign without signing Oxlade-Chamberlain to a contract extension, hoping they can convince him to do so during the season.
The England international only has one year left on his current deal, but the Gunners appear more confident in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain to an extension than they do Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil, per the report.

Reporters from Merseyside, including James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, previously reported the 23-year-old wants to move to Anfield:
The speedster has been around for some time now, emerging as a future star at Southampton before moving to north London in 2011. His progression slowed at Arsenal, but last season was a solid one for the winger, with seven assists in the Premier League.
He's still far from an automatic starter at the club, however, and given the fact he's just 23, it's easy to see why other clubs would have an interest―even if Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail wonders why:
There's a lot of untapped potential in Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Liverpool have done well with youngsters who couldn't break through at other top clubs. Before his persistent injury concerns kicked in, Daniel Sturridge was arguably the best young striker in the Premier League at Anfield.
Dealing with the Gunners won't be easy, however, and Arsenal could have until January to convince the young midfielder to sign a new deal.
Meanwhile, Deportivo La Coruna president Tino Fernandez has provided an update on the future of Lucas Perez, telling reporters Arsenal have no interest in selling.

Per Goal's Joe Wright, Fernandez said a return to Deportivo is unlikely and added the Gunners want to keep the Spaniard:
"Lucas is at a great club who made a big financial effort for him, there's a high level there and also the desire of the club is not to look for an exit.
"We've spoken to Arsenal, we were interested and we informed them of that, although it's true that that was days ago and other things have happened since then, like the fact that he will not be with the team for a few games."
Perez joined the Gunners last summer and barely featured in his first season in England, leading to immediate exit rumours.
Per sportswriter Pete O'Rourke, he was left out of the squad for the pre-season trip to Australia, so one has to assume Arsenal are hoping for a sale. Fernandez's statement seems to contradict that, however.
