Bayern Munich Transfer News: Sandro Wagner Blow, Latest Joshua Kimmich Rumours
Reported Bayern Munich transfer target Sandro Wagner has agreed to a new contract with TSG Hoffenheim, while Spanish media are reporting Joshua Kimmich is on a list of possible full-back targets for Barcelona.
According to Matthew Scott of Goal, Wagner emerged as a target for the Bavarians during the 2016-17 season following his stellar run with Hoffenheim. His great showing at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup added to the belief he could cut it with Bayern, where he enjoyed a large part of his academy days.
The 29-year-old journeyman is unlikely to return to Die Roten following his decision to extend his deal with his current club, however:

Wagner likely would have been a bench option at the Allianz Arena, giving the German champions more options up front. Last year, Robert Lewandowski carried the attack, but the rest of the team's forwards fell short of expectations, leading to speculation reinforcements were on the way.
The powerful German has played for a variety of clubs, as you can see in the video below, but he seems to have found the stability his career desperately needed at Hoffenheim:
Wagner's role as a starter will give him a better chance of making Germany's national team in the future; he was always thought to be unlikely to give that up in favour of a move to Bayern.
Elsewhere, Marca (via Calciomercato.com's Edo Dalmonte) report Barcelona have made a list of full-back targets, and Kimmich is on it. The list also includes Benfica's Nelson Semedo, Valencia's Joao Cancelo, Djibril Sidibe of AS Monaco and Alvaro Odriozola of Real Sociedad.

Kimmich has steadily improved his stature at Bayern but sent a warning sign to the club last week in an interview with L'Equipe (h/t Joe Wright of Goal), saying he's keen on regular playing time.
The 22-year-old mostly played for Bayern as a central midfielder last season but has plenty of experience at full-back, the position he usually plays for the national team. Per Squawka Football, he's quickly become a vital member of Die Mannschaft:
Per Dalmonte, Bayern have done their best to play down any speculation, and Kimmich isn't expected to leave his current club anytime soon.
Here's a look at some of his highlights:
The lure of playing for a great club like Barcelona can be tempting, but Bayern generally do a great job of keeping hold of their top talents.
With more minutes likely on offer following the departure of Philipp Lahm, Kimmich may well be an automatic starter next season.
