Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Andrea Belotti and Alvaro Morata

Chelsea will reportedly seek to secure Torino forward Andrea Belotti, with Romelu Lukaku set to move to Manchester United.

According to Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror, the Blues would have to part with around £90 million to land Belotti this summer, who scored 32 times in all competitions last season. 

Chelsea are to miss out on reported top target Lukaku, with United confirming on Saturday on Twitter that a fee had been agreed with Everton for the sale of the player. It's a slip-up that is said to have left manager Antonio Conte unhappy.

"Conte, who raised doubts about his own position soon after winning the title, is said to be fuming over the debacle," Lewis continued. "Especially as Lukaku is understood to have been made aware of the way in which the Italian intended to use him as a Chelsea player next season."

While he may not be proven in the Premier League, Belotti would represent a fine alternative to the Belgian.

Indeed, Belotti is a little different in style to Lukaku. While the Belgium international relies on his physicality to get into good positions, the Italian is a more instinctive forward.

Belotti's game is about those small movements that take him away from defenders, and when he finds space, typically he's a ruthless finisher. Factor in his tremendous work rate and hold-up play, and the Torino man may well be a better fit for the champions than their former forward.

Chelsea In Contact Over Morata

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are making "concrete steps" to sign Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata this summer.

It's suggested in the report that with Lukaku bound for United, the Blues have turned their attentions to the Spaniard and have sought to accelerate a deal.

It appeared the Red Devils were poised to land Morata in this window before turning their attention to Lukaku; as reported by BBC Sport's Simon Stone, having agreed a fee with Everton for the striker, United dropped their interest in the Real Madrid man.

As noted by the initial source, Conte is said to be an admirer of Morata, having helped bring him to Juventus in the past. With that in mind, it'd be no surprise if the Chelsea chief reignited his interest in the player.

The Spain international may not be as prolific as Lukaku, as noted by Daniel Storey of Football365:

However, he has a lot to his game. Early in his career, Morata has already fulfilled various tactical roles, including bringing the best out of Carlos Tevez at Juventus and doing a tremendous job off the bench for Real Madrid last season. Tactically, the 24-year-old is already extremely versatile.

Last season, Morata showed he could finish, too, as he netted 15 times in La Liga, despite primarily being a deputy for Karim Benzema. If he can showcase all of these attributes consistently in the Premier League, he could be a brilliant acquisition for the Blues.
