According to Sky Sports News HQ's Jim White, United will pay £75 million plus a further £15 million in add-ons to land Lukaku, with Wayne Rooney set to move to the Toffees, too.
Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph reported on Friday that Chelsea matched United's offer to Everton in a last-ditch attempt to convince the striker to return to Stamford Bridge. But it appears the Red Devils have got their man.
United midfielder and Lukaku's close friend Paul Pogba posted the following clip via Instagram on Saturday, suggesting the deal would be done soon:
The transfer is set to be one of the biggest in history. As these numbers from WhoScored.com illustrate, United are getting a brilliant goalscorer in Lukaku:
It was United manager Jose Mourinho, then in charge of Chelsea, who sanctioned Lukaku's sale to Everton in 2014, with the striker having previously enjoyed a season on loan with the Toffees.
At Goodison Park, he has gone from strength to strength, and under Ronald Koeman last term, he kicked on again. The Belgian was exceptional at the point of the Everton attack, using his pace and power to get into dangerous positions and finish expertly.

He's looked ready to push on for a while, and with the Toffees not yet ready to challenge for a UEFA Champions League spot, this summer felt like the right time for Lukaku to depart.
For United, as noted by sportswriter Liam Canning, the striker should fix some chronic issues:
However, former Red Devils right-back Gary Neville isn't totally convinced about what the forward offers:
There are undeniable flaws in Lukaku's game. While he's barrel-chested and powerful, his hold-up play can be erratic. You sense Mourinho will demand a lot more from Lukaku off the ball, too, as his work rate left a lot to be desired last season.
However, having lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic and with Rooney seemingly on his way out, the Red Devils desperately needed a forward who is a proven goalscorer in English football. In Lukaku, they are poised to secure one of the best.
