Bayern Munich Transfer News: Joshua Kimmich Addresses Exit Rumours

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has praised his current club but sent a warning over his playing time in the same interview amid rumours linking him with Manchester City, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

As reported by Joe Wright of Goal, the young midfielder/full-back complained about his lack of minutes at the end of last season, which invited plenty of speculation.

The Germany international repeated similar concerns in an interview with L'Equipe (via Wright) but also heaped praise on the Bavarians, suggesting he's focused on extending his role, not a transfer:

"In the last two years, I played more times than a number of people had. I think I've developed my game and Bayern are one of the best three clubs in the world.

"Few players have the chance to become part of this club. It's absolutely fantastic to be part of Bayern.

"What's important now is to play. And, for the moment, I prefer to play at right-back than to be on the bench."

He also elaborated on the differences between his club position and his role for the national team, saying the adjustment from midfield to defence has become easier.

As shared by Squawka Football, Kimmich has been a key contributor for Germany, where he's used as a full-back more than in midfield:

The 22-year-old has dealt well with the constant changes and enjoyed an excellent 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. His team's official Twitter account rightly praised his performances:

Such good form never goes unnoticed, however, and the likes of City and United would love to take advantage if Kimmich continues to feel undervalued in Munich.

The former RB Leipzig man continues to sing the praises of the Bavarians, which is a good sign, and it's easy to argue a move to any Premier League club would be a step back.

Young players need to play, but Bayern seem intent on expanding Kimmich's role as time goes on. With Philipp Lahm no longer in the picture, more opportunities at full-back may be available to go along with Kimmich's minutes in midfield.
