Keita was one of the Bundesliga's breakout stars last season, playing a key role in midfield for Leipzig. The Guinea international started 29 matches in the league, and Die Bullen shocked everyone by finishing second behind Bayern Munich.
Here's a look at some of his highlights, showing his attacking contributions:
Keita's much more than an offensive dynamo, however. He acted as a solid enforcer in front of the defence, breaking up plenty of attacks, and he showed excellent vision in his passing game.
While he only moved to Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, one has to assume his current club would be open to a sale for the right fee.
Per The Times, Leipzig have so far maintained he's not for sale, but if Keita demands a move, their stance could soften.
The Independent's Ed Malyon did note the Reds appear to have failed to learn their lesson from the Virgil van Dijk debacle if the latest rumours are true:
Leipzig aren't exactly strapped for cash―they were founded by the giant company behind the Red Bull energy drink, after all―but Die Bullen have proved shrewd negotiators in their short existence and appear to know when to cash in on their assets.
They have some of the best scouts in Germany, and they have done an incredible job of unearthing talent. A replacement should be found for Keita, and the giant transfer fee he would fetch could help close the gap to Bayern Munich.
