Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Daniel Sturridge and Joe Gomez
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly ready to keep Daniel Sturridge at the club this summer despite speculation surrounding his future.
According to Neil Moxley of the Sunday Mirror, the Reds boss believes finding a replacement for Sturridge would be too costly an exercise and is subsequently poised to put a block on any sale. Moxley's piece suggested West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the 27-year-old.
"But it appears that the Reds' boss is standing by his decision at the end of last season—that the striker is going nowhere," continued Moxley. "And now—unless there is a mammoth offer—the forward will stay on Merseyside."

Sturridge has consistently struggled with injury issues in recent seasons and fell down the pecking order at Anfield last term. As noted by Dominic King of the Daily Mail, the striker has found it tough to get on the pitch regularly as a result:
Still, there were times last season, even with his minutes reduced, when the striker made an impact for the Reds.
When he is fit and in the side, Sturridge brings a dash of brilliance to the Liverpool attack. The England striker still has a burst of pace, can shoot from anywhere around the area with his left foot and boasts underrated creativity. They are attributes that can be major assets for the Reds if harnessed properly.

However, Sturridge lacks the industry Klopp demands of all his players. Roberto Firmino, Liverpool's starting forward, will press opponents, nick possession back high up the pitch and offer a bustling presence at the point of the attack.
It means that if Sturridge stays, it's likely he'll continue to be used as an impact substitute. It'll be intriguing to see if the man himself is happy to fulfil that type of role.
Joe Gomez Set for Stay

According to Moxley, Klopp is also ready to keep Joe Gomez at Liverpool for now, despite a clutch of clubs wanting to land the young defender on loan.
Moxley suggested Brighton & Hove Albion are one of many Premier League sides to show "significant" interest in taking Gomez on a temporary basis, while Championship outfit Birmingham City are also said to be admirers.
But Klopp is reportedly ready to give the 20-year-old opportunities at Anfield in 2017-18. "With the added demands of the Champions League this season, the door is open for the likes of Gomez," noted Moxley. "And Klopp will not sanction a move for the England Under-21 star until he has made an assessment later this month."

After an impressive start to his Liverpool career, Gomez's progress has been set back due to a couple of serious injuries. Football journalist Callum Wright feels as though the youngster would benefit from a spell away on loan:
Following his injury layoffs, it's crucial Gomez is getting game time next season if he's to kick on. As things stand, it's difficult to see where he fits into the Liverpool team on a regular basis.
The merits of keeping him around would be obvious, as Gomez is a talented defender and extremely versatile in where he can play. Still, if the Reds envisage the player having a long-term future at the club, perhaps a loan move would be the most sensible option.
