Real Madrid Transfer News: Christophe Dugarry Weighs In on Kylian Mbappe Rumours
Former France international Christophe Dugarry has become the latest to weigh in on the rumours linking Kylian Mbappe with a move to Real Madrid, telling Los Blancos they would regret not signing the AS Monaco man.
Mbappe has been linked with Real seemingly on a daily basis for the past few months, and his compatriot gave his take on the situation in an interview with RMC (h/t Goal): "There is a real decision to be made. But sincerely if Mbappe doesn't go to Real Madrid, it will be a mistake by Real Madrid. He is the new gem of world football and with Ronaldo's age, he must end up at Real Madrid."

Per the report, Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 18-year-old, but Real are the clear front-runners. While Monaco maintain he's not for sale and the teenager has yet to indicate an interest in a move, price tags upwards of £100 million have been floated.
The speculation has taken on ridiculous proportions, with fans and pundits alike analysing just about anything the youngster does. Tom Coast of Sport Witness gave one example:
B/R Football joined in on the fun:
In between the speculation, there has been little tangible information. Per the report, Mbappe has made it clear he's not making a decision before he returns from holiday, and the French media have reported on ongoing contract negotiations.
One peculiar source weighed in on those negotiations, per Matt Spiro of BeIN Sports:
Mbappe scored an incredible 28 goals last season, defying his young age in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League alike. He's already a full France international and expected to lead Les Bleus' attack for years to come.
As a budding superstar with sky-high potential, he would be a sensational signing for Real, at any cost. The team has a fine attack but Cristiano Ronaldo, at 32, isn't getting any younger, and Mbappe could be the perfect long-term replacement.
Barring a catastrophic injury, his value is unlikely to drop in the near future, so Monaco have every reason to keep him for now. As of right now, Mbappe still seems most likely to stay, but don't expect Los Blancos to stop trying.
