BBC Sport's David Ornstein reported the two sides are closing in on an agreement:
Aulas made the comments during a press conference to introduce Lyon's newest forward, former Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz. He became the second attacker to join the club this week, with Bertrand Traore officially presented on Monday.
Sky Sports reported the Gunners are willing to pay upwards of £45 million to land the talented striker.
The two could help offset the loss of Lacazette, who has been the team's primary attacking weapon for years. There were also rumours Olivier Giroud could be involved in the deal to bring the 26-year-old to the Emirates Stadium, but Aulas denied those reports, via Get French Football News.
Per Jason Burt of the Daily Telegraph, Lacazette could move to north London very soon:
The Gunners have been looking for a consistent, prolific forward for years, and Lacazette certainly fits the bill. The France international has scored 21 or more goals in three straight Ligue 1 campaigns and didn't stop scoring when he represented the club in Europe.
Arsenal haven't made a major splash in the summer transfer window so far―unless you count the free transfer of Sead Kolasinac―but all signs indicate that could change as early as next week.
