Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on David De Gea and Serge Aurier
The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, Jorge Mendes, has reportedly contacted Real Madrid to try to force a transfer for his client. De Gea's agent has been in contact with Los Blancos director general Jose Angel Sanchez, per reports from Spain.
Speaking on the El Chiringuito television broadcast, journalist Pipi Estrada (h/t Dan Gibbs of the Daily Express) revealed there had been contact: "Mendes has asked Jose Angel Sanchez for De Gea, and Sanchez has asked him to be patient because the decision has not yet been made."
De Gea remains Los Merengues' top target as they seek a new 'keeper, but as Gibbs noted, "talks between the two clubs have stalled, with United thought to be reluctant to sell and Madrid yet to meet their asking price."

Instructing his representatives to initiate contact with Real again could be seen as the Spain No. 1's desire to make a transfer happen. However, any talk of De Gea's leaving Old Trafford this summer remains speculation.
United don't want to sell De Gea, although Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports News HQ previously said their stance could change if a player moved the other way. Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho revealed in May how highly he rates his goalkeeper, per Michael Kelleher of Sky Sports: "David is top in the world, and obviously we want to keep the top in the world."
It would make sense for Mourinho to want to keep De Gea since the Portuguese is trying to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title. Selling one of the marquee players on the books would surely delay the process.
United Compete with Juventus for Full-Back
One player Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing in is Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier. The United boss faces competition from Serie A giants Juventus for the Ivory Coast international, per TuttoMercatoWeb (via Anthony Chapman of The Sun).
Juve want Aurier to replace the outgoing Dani Alves, while one of the latter's former clubs, Barcelona, are also keen, per the reports.

In terms of how he would fit at United, Aurier would be ideal for Mourinho's mix of defensive pragmatism allied with rapid and lethal counter-attacks. The Ivorian is a tremendous athlete, one blessed with the pace and energy to help launch breaks from deep with raiding runs on the flank.
He is also a physical tackler who is also underrated in the air. In other words, Aurier has all the qualities Mourinho usually looks for in his right-backs.
The position is one United's manager would like to add to this summer, with Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Independent recently reporting Mourinho "wants to improve his options" behind the 31-year-old Antonio Valencia.

Aurier, who can also play in midfield, like Valencia, fits the bill as the Ecuador international's potential successor. He also wants to leave PSG, per France Football (h/t the Daily Mirror).
Now looks like the right time for United to make their move for the 24-year-old. Meanwhile, this summer wouldn't be the opportune moment to sell De Gea.
