Liverpool Transfer News: Naby Keita Talks Future Amid Latest Reds Rumours
RB Leipzig's Naby Keita has discussed his desire to play for a "very big club" at some point in the future, but he does not appear to count Liverpool among them.
He told German newspaper Die Welt (h/t Carl Markham of the Press Association, via the Mirror) of the Premier League clubs that approached him last year: "Arsenal, Southampton, Manchester City and Liverpool, although I did not talk with the coach."
He added: "I hope, however, that I have the level in two, three years and could play for one of the very big clubs. This includes Barcelona, but it also includes Real Madrid or Manchester City."

Keita opted to join Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer ahead of those from the Premier League as he wanted more time to develop away from the spotlight of the UEFA Champions League.
The 22-year-old had an outstanding year and established himself as the driving force in the Leipzig team, ultimately helping them finish second in the Bundesliga.
Per football writer Raphael Honigstein, Keita is seemingly ready to move on this summer, but his club are holding firm with an enormous price tag:
If Leipzig hold their resolve, it puts Liverpool in a difficult situation as he's an excellent player who would improve their midfield, but such a valuation is likely well beyond what they would have expected and what they are willing to spend.
Fox Sports' Keith Costigan gave his take on Keita and his situation:
The Guinea international is an exceptional box-to-box player who acts as a real catalyst in the centre of the park and makes vital contributions in both attacking and defensive phases.
Because of the role he plays, he's something of an all-rounder in midfield. He's strong in the tackle, reads the game well and puts in a tireless shift, but he's also adept at pushing the team forward, beating opponents and looking to create or finish off chances.
Squawka Football revealed the numbers behind his outstanding campaign:
While Reds fans may be discouraged he perhaps does not put them on the same level as Barca, Real or City, it does not mean he wouldn't relish the prospect of turning out at Anfield either.
Liverpool would be a significant step up from Leipzig, and he would be well-suited to thrive under manager Jurgen Klopp, but much will depend on whether the clubs can come to an agreement over his price.
