Fantasy DC's Week Five: Buy/Sell Report
(Keep your eyes open for a Week 5 Sit/Start Review column tomorrow -> Early Look Here <- as well as a Waiver Hawk article)
Marshawn Lynch BUF, RB
Jon Dove - Sell - A few weeks ago I said to buy Fred Jackson. That isn’t looking like the best call as last week Lynch got the majority of the carries. For some reason the Bills offense has been terrible, so I see changes coming. I can not see how a coach could keep Jackson off the field, so I would dump Lynch after a productive week.
Billy Smith - Buy - The Bills scored points in Week One. They scored 33 in Week Two and have scored a total of 10 in the past three weeks. In the past two weeks Lynch has gotten more carries and will probably see his work load continue to rise.
Ronnie Brown MIA, RB
Jon Dove - Buy - Ronnie Brown is the Dolphins offense. If the Dolphins are going to score, there's a great chance Brown will be involved. I also was impressed with Chad Henne, and if he could continue to develop there will be more room for Brown to run.
Billy Smith - Buy - True, Brown may be sharing carries with Ricky Williams, but they both seem to be thriving in the wildcat sets. In an average game, Brown might rush for 80 yards, have 40 receiving, throw for 20 more, and have two rushing TDs and one passing. I’ll take that.
Kyle Orton DEN, QB
Jon Dove - Sell - Orton does have weapons but he will eventually fall off the wagon. Opposing defenses will figure out how to stop this offense and Orton lacks the skills to overcome a good defensive scheme.
Billy Smith - Buy - Who are you and what have you done with Kyle Orton? All of the sudden the Bears' castoff looks like John Elway.
Miles Austin DAL, WR
Jon Dove - Sell - I would sell Austin while he has value. At this time of the year people are desperate for WR production.
Billy Smith - Sell - In one start, Austin has a better game than Michael Irvin or T.O. ever had in a game for Dallas. However, when Roy Williams is healthy, he will be back in the lineup.
Matt Hasselbeck SEA, QB
Jon Dove - Hold - If Hasselbeck can stay healthy he will have higher value later in the season. Hasselbeck can be very productive so I would hang on to him.
Billy Smith - Sell - The injury problems bother me. You might be able to get a decent WR for him.
