Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Kyle Walker, Kelechi Iheanacho
Manchester City are reportedly growing frustrated in their attempts to agree a fee for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker. Spurs are holding out for around £10 million more than City manager Pep Guardiola has offered, per the reports.
The Daily Mail (h/t Alex Porter of the Manchester Evening News) reported how the Citizens "have offered around £40 million for Walker, but Spurs value him at £50 million, and the two clubs have so far been unable to reach an agreement."
Porter also noted how, despite his frustrations, Guardiola remains keen on England international Walker, even while pursuing other options at the position: "Dani Alves is expected to sign on a free transfer, but City are looking to sign two right backs after releasing Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna."

Guardiola worked with Dani Alves, but Walker remains his "top target," according to Porter. Signing both Walker and Alves would complete an overhaul of the right-back berth and give City two quality choices to help seriously challenge on multiple fronts.
Given Alves is 34, it would make sense for Guardiola to also pursue a younger full-back. Walker, 27, fits the bill as a player who has developed well in recent seasons at Tottenham.
There is no doubt Walker has the energy and recovery pace to be an asset going forward and also useful defensively. The England international fits the expansive game Guardiola preaches, but is he really worth £50 million?

It's not even clear Walker is the best right-back in Tottenham's squad, especially with Kieran Trippier getting better all the time.
City Want Buy-Back Clause for Iheanacho
The Citizens are ready to sell striker Kelechi Iheanacho but want a buy-back clause included in any deal for the Nigerian. A report from Sam Wallace of the Daily Telegraph detailed what the Citizens will demand from interested suitors: "He is valued at around £25 million and his buy-back clause will be worth at least another £10 million on top of that sum to the club that signs him."
As Wallace pointed out, Iheanacho has become a target for Premier League duo Leicester City and West Ham United. Even so, it makes sense for City to at least give themselves a chance of bringing Iheanacho back if he makes it big at his next club.

After all, the 20-year-old boasts the pace, movement and assurance as a finisher to thrive leading the line for a club in England's top flight. He has most often been something of a super sub for City but is young enough to be developed into a main striker.
Selling Iheanacho with a buy-back clause would be a smart move for City as the Manchester club builds funds for other targets. However, spending around £50 million on Walker would be one investment tough to justify.
