Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Thibaut Courtois and Loic Remy
Chelsea have reportedly put negotiations with Thibaut Courtois over a new deal "on hold," as the Belgian is seeking "at least double" his £90,000-per-week wages.
According to the Daily Mail's Kieran Gill, the goalkeeper has two years remaining on his contract but wants to earn closer to Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard and Manchester United counterpart David De Gea, who take home £200,000 per week.
Despite the talks stalling, Courtois will return to the club for pre-season in July, and the Blues are hoping to have his future secured before the season starts again in August.

The stopper kept the most clean sheets in the English top flight last year, per WhoScored.com:
Courtois, 25, perhaps hasn't kicked on from the exceptional form he showed on loan with Atletico Madrid since his return to Chelsea in 2014, but he is nevertheless among the top goalkeepers in world football.
Bleacher Report's own Sam Tighe put him narrowly behind the top five:
While United 'keeper De Gea is indeed a better player overall, Courtois is on a similar level, so it's understandable that he would want parity—or close to it—in terms of wages.
That said, Chelsea's reluctance to double his wages on the back of a strong but unspectacular campaign is equally to be expected.
However, they can ill afford to lose him, so they may have to meet his demands.

Meanwhile, the Blues are willing to let Loic Remy leave cheaply in order to restart his career elsewhere, per The Sun's Mark Irwin.
Chelsea bought the Frenchman from Queens Park Rangers in 2014 on the back of a strong loan spell at Newcastle United the year before, in which he bagged 14 goals, but he has had scant opportunity to replicate that form at Stamford Bridge.
He spent last season on loan with Crystal Palace but played just eight times for the Eagles—only three of which were starts—and he spent the majority of the campaign sidelined with an injury.
The 30-year-old's peak years have largely been stale, but he still has time to kickstart his career elsewhere—a move will benefit all parties.
