Bayern Munich Transfer News: Alexis Sanchez Confusion, Latest Rumours

Gianni VerschuerenJun 23, 2017

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez sent the German press into a frenzy by giving a cryptic answer when asked whether he will move to Bayern Munich, while Juventus are said to be interested in a deal for young midfielder Renato Sanches.

As reported by BILD (via Metro), Sanchez replied "no" when their national team reporter Heiko Niedderer‏ approached him after the 1-1 FIFA Confederations Cup draw against Germany and asked about him moving to Bayern.

Niedderer claimed the Chilean "grinned" as he gave his reply, but plenty of other reporters immediately speculated Sanchez may not have been talking about his future at all. Sport Witness explained:

When Omnisport (via Metro) asked a similar question about his future, the forward declined to talk about his club football and focused on the ongoing competition.

It's but the latest example of the silly season, with Sanchez's future a hotly debated topic due to his contract status. As long as he doesn't sign a new deal with Arsenal or openly discusses his desire to move to Bavaria, fans of both clubs can only hope for the best.

Another player who could be on the move this summer is the 19-year-old Sanches, who suffered through a disappointing first season with Bayern and could see his role shrink even further following the arrival of Corentin Tolisso.

Per Mediaset Premium (h/t Football Italia), Juventus want to take the Portugal international on loan for two years with an option to buy, a similar deal to the one that brought Kingsley Coman to the Allianz Arena.

As shared by PortuGOAL's Tom Kundert, Sanches' stock has taken a huge hit in the last 12 months:

Bayern signed the youngster after his impressive showing in France, and they may not be willing to give up on Sanches after just one year. The Bavarians have a great working relationship with Juventus following the deals for Coman and Medhi Benatia and are currently negotiating a move for Douglas Costa.

Should Sanches be made available on loan, other clubs will undoubtedly be interested as well.
